Device identification failure problem for FC drives

v@bz Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Sir, We are using CuVC & CU-1 type drives for our operations. But when i try to take parameter backup of all the drives with drive monitor, i am abloe to take the backup of CuVC drives only. Whenever i connect my FC drives, then device identification error comes which says -- "your device is not recognized." In that it shows that current device version is 1.2 and configured deviceversion is 1.3. But in drive monitor when i selectmy Drive type, i select Simovert FC then only one version is displayed which is 1.3 and 1.2 is not shown, so i select 1.3 and when i press ok,the above error comes.However, i noticed that if i select Cu-2 type drive then version 1.2 is displayed. Thou i don't select that. So, how should i proceed to take the backup of my FC drives coz neither SIMOVIS nor Drive Monitor is identifyingthe drive. Pls help me ASAP. Thanks & Regards V@Bz......

Click on online button (Write EEPROM button) You will get Firmware mismatch error but you will be able to take backup and even download same.. v@bz Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	i did that as well and a number of times but everytime it shows that most of the parametere were copied butsome failed as well. And the file that is generated after taking the backup; whenever i try to open, it doesn't display anything as if it corrupted or nothing got stored in it. Any other alternative...pls suggest!!

You can download whenever you go online with that drive.. Try to generate database after getting online.. If you still have problem, my suggestion is to Open Support request(Top Right Box). May be, Siemens can send you database you needed.. Devesh
