How to set PID parameters such as gain, integral and derivative from PLC and HMI?

rolakyng Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	All, How do I set the PID parameters; gain - p2280, reset time - p2285 and actuation time - p2274 from the PLC and HMI? Is there an FB that can be used to achieve this? I'm using 315 plc, s120 drives and MP377 15" touch panel. The communication between PLC and drives is done through Profibus. Thanks, Ravi

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/11/2025 Posts: 12407 Rating: (2717)	Hello rolakyng; Writing parameter values to a MM4 drive can be accomplished from the PLC using Profibus, as long as you take a few moments to understand how the Profidrive profile is used. Look at this Application note; it has a few links in section 5, one to a MM4 manual for the Profibus interface, and on to explain how toread/write parameters on a MM4 drive: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22078757 Start with thois information, and come back when you have more specific questions.
