Hello,

I am trying to read the time from PLC using the stated system function. Output of the function can be stored in Memory Area:D,L one is a variable under interface->temp as created in ob1 'OB1_DATE_TIME', what is the other one?

I tried creating data block with variable of type DATE_AND_TIME but can I use that at the output of the SFC1? If yes how to do it? Using just i.e. db2 will not work, I know I can use dbx for bits dbb for bytes but what if I want to store data in 8byte long structure?

I gave it a name in data block and tried tu use db2.name on the output of SFC1 but had no luck with this.

I wanted to just use the current time to be kept in memory and I used MOVE blocks and pushed desired bytes from LB to MB and I still dont know how to use SFC1.

this solution in STL is basically same as I did with FBD, I stored it under the temporary variable(#temp_var on the output of SFC1) and pushed the desired bytes, I thought that I could use this SFC to store it in other container then #temp only. So this was stored as local variable, but as I do this in FB1 and it already has DATE_AND_TIME stored, calling SFC1 here to do the same is pointless, my next question then is when I want to use SFC1 for reading clock and storing it under D memory area.

I created the data block db2 with variable read_time of type DATE_AND_TIME at address 0.0.

What should I use when calling SFC1 to store the returned value there? db2.dbx0.0 to point at the starting address will not work (any way to create pointer for starting address of variable, someone told me something about P#), and the largest one I found is dbd (data block double world) and this is 4 bytes and I need 8 right?

I tried to use db2.read_time but with that I get the info that 'Symbol read_time is not a component of DB'

Thank you Wizard, adding the symbolic name solved the case.

I thought I could use just P#db2.dbx0.0 but no, there has to be symbolic name added.
