Multiple DB96 and DB97 requirement

That x-ray machine only will read the DB96(Send) and DB97 (Receive) from siemens PLC. its hard-coded. Now we got one update to communicate 2 x-ray machine to one PLC, so now we need 2 numbers of DB96,DB97 for this communication. X-Ray side they confirmed that, thay cannot make any updates, now we have asked to find out some solution in PLC side (except using 2 PLC). anybody having idea or experience with this requirement? pls update if u have anything.

Hello Maha; You cannot have more than a single DB96 and a single DB97 per program, each block must have a unique identifier. What I can suggest is to use your DB96 and DB97 as maiboxes, That is, create copies of DB96 for each machine(for example, DB196 for the first machine, DB296 for the 2nd) where your program will write the data you wish to send teach machine. Then do the same with DB97 (say, DB197 for the 1rst machine, DB297 for the second). Use SFCC20 BLKCOPY to transfer the data from DB196 to DB96 when you are triggering the send to the first machine, same for the second, and then copy from DB97 to2 recieve blocks when new data is recieved. That way you will have distinct DBs for each machine, in the Send and Recieve mode. It would be helpful if you could tell us what functions are used to send/recieve from your X-Ray machine. If these are custom, could you show us the code? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

But that has not beed approved based on some safety rule,since it is more high secured area. One of our other supplier called PROSOFT, come up with some solution of using one module named as 5202-MNET-S3964R4. This one will work through Modbus/TCP with CP443. anyone have the experience on this Prosoft with Modbus? Plese share some knowledge on this.
