Brother HL2150N FALURE + OP77B USB port

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	I succesfuly connected Brother HL2150N printer to OP77B USB port an printed perfecty more than 100 pages (WInCC Flexibile 2005 SP1). At a certain moment the printer stoped printing. I tryed to connect the printer to PC but I get the message (unrecognized USB device). I have tryed with a new identical printer first on the PC to check if it's ok; the printer is recognized, I can install drivers and print from windows XP. When I try to connect it to OP77B (linked to an S7-200) I could see a very short power supply failure, the PLC reseted and the printer isn't working anymore. The printer was off when I connected to the OP. Both OP and PLC have PE connections, and are supplied from the same phase. What could be the reason for this? In OP manual I found this: Rated load of the interface The load capacity of the USB port is limited to 100 mA. Avoid any higher loads. Equipment connected to the port may otherwise malfunction. Can someone explain? Thank you.

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	hello Check and see if potentail power on the ground connections from th epe ground and the printer ground . Are the three units on th esame power or phase ? Caqn you hook up the printer to the same power supply . Is your usb cable really long (over 2 m)

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	I tryed with a2m cable from a scaner, and surprise - one of the printers works (the second). For the first one I still get the message abour the unrecognized device on my PC. Is it possible to make an galvanic isolation between the OP and printer? Any other sugestions? Can you explain the observation regarding 100mA from OP book? Regarding the program to change settings to printer, I will use it, but the message on the PC shouldn't appear on the PC. Thank you.
