HOW TO USE W AXIS IN INTERPOLATION INSTEAD OF Z AXIS

Balu_M Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Hi , HOW TO USE W AXIS IN INTERPOLATION INSTEAD OF Z AXIS in 840D system. I have horizontal boring machine with 840D system, There is 6 axes and one spindle, Axes configuration are X, Y, Z, W, B, A and SP. X,Y,Z,W are Linear axes and B,A axes are rotary axes. If i connect attachment head, I have to use W axis in interpolation instead of Z axis. Help me solve this problem. Regards. MBG

See in horizontal boring machine Quill should be configure as Z-axis and Ram should be configure as W-axis. In normal case ( Without head attachement ) you dont have any problem you can use the cycles only you need to support the ram. In case of Head attachment you have interchage the axis W & Z axis with Geoax function to use the siemens cycles and also you need to synchronize the both the axis. Regards, Sunil
