What is the difference between an instance data block and a global data block and how does a CALL call influence the DB register? AMAZINGAHMED Posts: 719 Rating: (88)	Away from manuals and datasheets, I think that Function Blocks are the nearest method to OOP (Object Oriented Pogramming). You create specific function for a process object (e.g. motor, valve,... etc.) and reuse it in your project and can reuse it in your next projects. You can also make it very general to all types of (e.g. motors) and use it whenever you've got a motor in your system. Whenever you use a FB in your prgram, a corresponding DataBlock that holds the variables used in the FB is created. This DB is useful in monitoring and debugging and also organizing. If you go on creating your own FBs, you'll end having a usable library to use in every project.
