315-2DP CPU

Krsh Posts: 59 Rating: (1)	Hello, I have a new 315-2DP CPU which has to communicate via Profibus with an existing S7-400 CPU which is on a DCS system. The 315-2DP CPU also has to communicate with a local touch panel(MP277) also on Profibus. On the touch panel the operator can control and monitor a set of i/o's from the new S7-300 PLC. The DCS system has to ''see'' a set of variables on the 315-2DP CPU through the existing S7-400 CPU. Can the 315-2DP CPU communicate with the S7-400 and the local touch panel only with the onboard communication ports or do i have to install a CP? Thank you.

Hi Krsh, You can used the MPI port to Communicate with S7-400 Using the Global Data or X_PUT/X_GET block. Options for communications via MPI In above link you will find the Example also, for Profibus you can used DP-DP coupler DP/DP Coupler is used for the if both the CPU are Profibus master. & easy to configured in the hardware.

Hello, S7-400 CPU, CPU315-2DP and MP277 are all on the same bus. So you can monitor and/or control variables of both two CPUs from the MP277. In WinCC flex. make two communication CPUs and identify connection for each tag. The same thing if the DCS is connected on the same bus. Please tell us how you connect the DCS to S7-400 CPU.

Krsh Posts: 59 Rating: (1)	The DCS system comm. with S7-400 CPU on Profibus. The MP277 task isto control/monitor only the S7-300 PLC and can be connected on MPI/Profibus. The connection between S7-300 and S7-400 is on Profibus. Thank you for your answers.
