com profibus, could not import, missing device file

createstars Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I tried to import data from the memory card. However it pop up with an error Stating : "Import not possible, because a device master file is missing. Copy the missing file to the directorty file containing the device master files, read the file in and start the function again. Missing device master file "SIEM80b3.gsd" Could anyone tell me where to find this GSD file and where do i copy to? Thank you. Createstars

Step 1: Copythe GSD file into the "GSD" directory of your COM Profibusinstallation directory Step 2:Use the"Read in GSD files" command from the COM Profibus"File" menu The aboveas well as more very helpful information is available in the COM Profibus manual and I hope it helps.

KSN Diamond Member Joined: 8/25/2006 Last visit: 1/19/2026 Posts: 2221 Rating: (282)	Hello. Unzip gsd-file to the directory C:\Siemens\CPBV51\gsd and bitmap to the C:\Siemens\CPBV51\bitmaps (if you have Com Profibus V5.1). Then restart program or use menu 'File-Read in GSD Files'.
