No rights to open a Project

zerbati Posts: 29 Rating: (2)	Hi! I'm having one problem since one week ago: I receive a message that I don't have the permission to open projects because I don't have the rights to do it. The computer was working fine, with my only user ("administrator"). Then, I've created one new user ("siemens") and, after that, I can't open any project on this machine, even with the old and good "administrator". [:cry:] Does someone have some information about it? Really important: I'm using WinCC 6.0 SP3 Asia. Attachment Pictures.zip (287 Downloads)

Three things to check are: Ensure that your windows users - Administrator and Siemens - have passwords and are not using blank passwords. The SIMATIC Shell folder in Windows Explorer is correctly displaying your WinCC project shares. If this folder is empty I have found WinCC does not always operate correctly. Browse to your computer through Network Neighbourhood and try to connect to the project share WinCC60_Project_<your project name>. This will determine if your Windows user has the relevant permissions for accessing the project folder Regards, Salma

Ates Posts: 198 Rating: (19)	yes, this is very classical problem if you administer a domain in your company :) always put users (who will use the computer) to simatic groups, i thinkthere are 3 of them.. if not you will get many stupid errors. rigth click to my computer > manage >groups > add users to groups from here i wrote this because i lost many time when i firstly saw this problem i tried to add users to groups from users menu but you need to do this from groups menu .. althougth i was thinking that you cannot have more then 1 group in xp because in users side you can only add 1 group.. :)
