In some cases, you need to be innovative to handle the task compeletly.As it may seem a rare case to do such a revamp project. Regards

Marcjan Diamond Member Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 3/31/2025 Posts: 5697 Rating: (716)	Have done same thing many times, indeed you have to translate the electrical schematic to plc logic, with that you need all the help you can get, try to divide the machine in as many parts as possible (funtions). Ask operators how the parts should be working, try to translate eachpart in plc logic. Regards, Marcjan

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 1/22/2026 Posts: 3054 Rating: (1062)	Dear all this thread has taken on a life of its own (a week has gone and no feedback at all fromthe thread starter concerning this), so allow me to add a few morethings to be aware of in the hope it may either help ahsan1820orsomeone else who stumbles across this in the future: 1.) The obvious one: Ladder logic is the best choice to reproduce any hardwired relay based "logic" in a PLC program (this is the reason Ladder logic was invented which stronglyresembleselectrical schematics). 2.)The NOT so obvious one: A hardwiredcircuit (includingrelays, timer relays, mechancial drum sequencerns, analogue controllersetc) has its own timing rules. A direct conversion ofthese circuit toa Ladder logicbased "softwired"PLC program changes this, sinceyou are now dealing with a digital control system and its timing rules (e.g. scan based/cyclic execution). This may (or maynot) create a slightly diferent and/or non-functioning control behaviourand is at least something to be aware of and to be considered when doing the conversion. I hope this helps

Lets say, not more than 20 contactors, relais? But if it becomes more difficult, 100 contactors or more, than I think that the concept of Marcjan is necessarily. If you have a real big switchgear cabinet, there is just a less chance to convert the paperplan into a ladder logic. That is my experience.

Let me explain my the control I/O's the stelizer has 8 thermocouple inputs,for which i have decided to use 7KF02 module. And a single BLOWER ,1 digital out. 6 Heaters ,digital output. and i have to create an HMI on wincc flexible .... as i understand from the above discussion is that first of all i have to convert the WLC diagram into PLC ladder logic.
