Dear viralpatel, Excel database querys uses standard SQL. Database functions are used for data that is already in the same Excel file, and they do not use SQL.(This is onereason I think the functions are tricky and awkward.) I think the Excel help would be the best way to get more info, "SQL" and "database" might be good search terms. This is a link to a tutorial about importing data to Excel: http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/excel-help/import-data-import-external-data-into-excel-2003-RZ001183132.aspx?CTT=1&origin=EC001022984 As a general guideline, you should try to make the SQL query as close as possible to what you want in the report. To first "SELECT ALL", and then do the filtering and grouping in Excel is usually mor difficult than to edit the query. Hope this makes sense and helps you. //JaToLe ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe a csv archive isn't as difficult to use as I thought, check out this thread: problem of wincc flexible archive The FAQ link posted by Ayman Elotaify was interersting news to me. |
