LAD/STL/FBD Editor crashes during save

dande74 Posts: 101 Rating: (11)	Hi, Suddenly I cannot save specific blocks in my project (OB1 and FC7). If I try the editor crashes without any fault message. I've tried to do a "Save As..." "With reorganization (slow)" but it doesn't help. Any ideas? Running STEP 7 Professional 2010

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	2 idea, but afraid you won't like both - reinstall Step7 and reinstall Windows. Maybe you can rollback system for 2-3 weeks? I guess that may help...

Running STEP 7 Professional 2010 Hello Dande, You could try to create a newproject, with OB1 and FC7. Open the blocks inthe corrupted project and copy the networks in the blocks of thenew project. Save blocks in new project. If no fault message appears, you can try to overwrite the blocks in corrupted project with those of the new project. Kind regards BV

I might try that to if I got some time over. I did the following. 1. Created a new project. 2. Created a new SIMATIC 300 Station. 3. Added a rack and a CPU. 4. Copied all blocks from the corrupted project to the new project. 5. Tried to open and save both OB1 and FC7. It now works. 6. Copied all other things such as HW, HMI, Symbols. 7. Tried again to open and save OB1 and FC7. Works. I think it's solved and I hope it will stay uncorrupted. -- Daniel

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Well, i wasn't joking - made my conclusion based on "If I try the editor crashes without any fault message" - there is no way to reinstall only editor - so reinstalling Step7 was best proposal. ----------------------------- Can you try following - delete all confidential info in original project, code from blocks excluding OB1 (please leave block interfaces - IN/OUT- unchanged) and check if editor still crashes on saving OB1? If it does - maybe you should send this reduced version to Siemens support guys - perhaps they can find out what's happened and fix some bug in editor?

I've sent it to Siemens support in Sweden. They couldn't help me so it's going to Germany now.
