filter and brake resistor

Sulung Bronze Member Joined: 5/26/2007 Last visit: 12/10/2025 Posts: 128 Rating: (3)	I have a 175 hp water pump motor connect to a 200 kw mm440. the pump works in a fix speed, operator just turn it on and off. my question is do i need a filter and brake resistor? in what case i need a filter? in what case i need a brake resistor?

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	in what case i need a filter? if you need to fulfil EMC-Standards, a EMC-Filter (a input choke is required), and/or output filter is needed. in what case i need a brake resistor? if you have feedback energy from the motor, you need an chopper-module and a braking resistor (you can’t use an barking resistor without chopper-module)
