TIA Portal - MP277 can't use MPI interface?

I've been told that if you are using TIA portal and an MP277 HMI that you can't use the MPI interace for comms with a PLC, is this correct? |

I thought it illogical too, but that’s what Siemens technical support have said in the UK. Do they have it wrong? |
