Server and PC selection for PCS7

nishu Posts: 66 Rating: (1)	Dear All, I have to select Server and Desktop PC for PCS7, on going through PCS7 literature it supports only Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 OS, while in today senario all brand PC manufacturer HP/Dell refuses to supply above software with their models and also for providing supporting drivers for above OS. Siemens workstations are costly, kindly suggest some solution or make that still support above OS.

SgtPepper Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	None of the PC manufacturers will sell a computer with Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 server today.Youare able to purchase the computer with the necessary operating system fromSiemens because PCS 7 is currentlysupported with Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server. Newer operating systems will be available when PCS 7 V8.0 is released next year. The only other option is to rebuild a purchased computer with the correct operating system and drivers. This requires that you have the necessary MS Operating system software on hand to do the rebuild.

If you buy another PC, you have to buy a Windows XP or Server 2003 from your provider. If you buy the Industry PCs from Siemens, you will get the PC with Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.
