sashaxs82 Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hi to all, I have a big problem with Simatic Manager, I'm writing all the steps I did. I've Simatic Manager 5.5.1.0 on Win 7 Ultimate SP1, but I had the same problem with 5.5.0.4 The main problem is that, when I open Simatic Manager and then a program (symbol table, kop/fup editor, hw config, ....), each time I close the program, it seems closed, but If i check in the Windows Process the process is still active. The only application that reports a crash when closing is KOP/AWL/FUP editor. After crash, if I reopen it, it loses settings. So, I removed all Siemens program, with a procedure of fully uninstall (found in Siemens support website). I restart the PG, then I've installed ONLY Simatic Manager 5.5.1.0 from original DVD. Well, the first time I've launched it, I've again the same problem. Another strange behaviour: I notice is that if I add Simatic Manager icon on Windows application bar, when reopening Step 7, it loses the history of recently opened projects....while if it's not on the bar I I've the same problem of process that remains active, but it keeps history... Please give me some suggestions, I know that the last chance is to restore the whole PG, but at the moment I prefer finding better solutions. Stefano

Run Simatic manager "as administrator". And please give feedback to us. Somehow I think this is access rights issue, but I can be wrong off course.

sashaxs82 Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hi, UAC was already disabled and I'm the administrator of the PG; I've tried, but no difference. I've tried another thing: I've installed S7 F configuration pack since I need to edit safe blocks...after installing it, I see the yellow icon on the toip bar, but if I try to open a safety block it says: "S7 F Configuration" not found. So I can't open safety blocks... Stefano

I still think its an issue with user rights as long as you allready had reinstalled Simatic software. Try with administration rights. Also it can be caused by antivirus software. try to disable or even uninstall it and then reinstall simatic software. And I hope your windows is 32-bit....

sashaxs82 Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Yes, Windows is 32bit. When my company bought this PG, it had installed Step7 and Wincc flexible 2008 SP2, and they worked fine. I can't remember when it started working bad, as antivirus I've Trend Micro. In my opinion I don't have other softwares that can cause malfunction (teamviewer,office, skype, silverlight, ultravnc, some sick tool). If someone has some suggestions....he's welcome !

Not the first time. It could be dozen of problems like invalid registry, damaged user rights and so on and so on and so on. So time from the first post was more than enough to reinstall 3 times and problem could be allready gone (because it was ok with initial PG installation).
