EM231 for Thermocouples 4 AI . Problems with the SF RED LED.

david77diaz Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, I had connected a EM231 TC (4 AI) module in a system with some thermocouples. But after a month the EM231 TC stopped the right operation and it turned on a red LED (SF) indicating an error. It didn't work. I read the S7-200 manual (Appendix A) for finding out what happened but it only gives this information: RED LED ON----> Indicates "Diagnostics error (Error de diagnostico)" I would like to know what is this error about and if there is a way of solving it. Can the module be fixed? How can the module be fixed? Why is this error caused? Please I apreciate your answers about it. The product code is: 6ES7 231--7PD22--0XA0 Thanks a lot!

If you've checked everything and can't find a clue what is going on then its possible module is dead. Anyway your error says module configuration error, but if it just stopped working without changing any configurations then its possible module is dead.

Marko Bursic Posts: 1410 Rating: (154)	Check if some TC has broken insulation to the earth.If at least two of them have connection to outer casing (earth) then grouding currents may flow.
