PKZIP Issue with Step 7 V5.4 Sp4

DaveA Posts: 78 Rating: (4)	Hi there, Iam currently having issues with my Archive / Retrieve function is S7. I dont know what has casued this but now all my backups dont have the zipped folder logo next to them in their stored location. When i try to retrieve a file S7 asks me to select a zip program. I select PKZIP 12.0 (I have always used PKZIP) but it cannot locate it? Is it possible the PKZIP is corrupted? How do I fix this as I tried to reinstall S7 and it has not fixed the problem!?!?!? Merry Christmas

trendsetter2k20 Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Dear DaveA I too faced the same Problem 1) initially i used the WinZip or WinRar as my alternate Software for archiving. You can do this settings change by following Procedure Close all opened Projects just only open Simatic Manager go to menu "Option>Customize> a new window opens here you change the tab from general to Archiving then select the Prefered archiving Button from the drop down box you will get Choices as WinZip or WinRAR. 2) Other wise you can install the PKWARE alone seperately & Specify the Path for it. Click on the side button configuring then browse for the path generally it will be C:\Program Files\PKWARE\PKZIPC\pkzipc.exe Try it out it both worked for me.

aliuta2000 Bronze Member Joined: 1/26/2007 Last visit: 7/29/2025 Posts: 123 Rating: (4)	Hello , the same issue was olso to my notebook , but i solved faster so : Option-> Customize-> Archiving ->chose PKzip configure , and there i wrote pkzipc.exe and it runs fine now , no more issue .
