CarlesG Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, I 2 years ago I found the same problem on a project with PCS7 v7.0 SP1 and I did for the solution to ensure effective monitoring of program elements HMI panels, was to create 2 DB, 1 DB Shipping data to WinCC Flex and one DB to receive data from WinCC Flex in the program, since they managed through the CFC of the elements they controlled the state and also from the HMI panel could act on them in manual mode. If you need more information I can advise you.

The solutions are based on ESK block libraries (Engineering Standard Kernel). Hope it 'll help. PCS7 as DCS solution does not considered the integration of panels , whose purpose is to provide visualization for machines ; however , there are solutions , fortunately and thanks to the Siemens TIA plattform.

Timmy Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	CarlesG, I will be testing this theory on Sunday (first downtime available for me to try). I am going to be inserting a CP 343-1 card into a S7-315 PLC rack and then connecting a KTP600 panel to the CP343-1 card via ethernet. From there I am going to have one DB on the S7-315 with various bits, words, ints...that I will be tyring to access from the KTP600. I have a FC that will take the data from the DB and process the logic accordingly also reading and writing data to the DB as needed. I was wondering how you did the addressing and connections on the HMI side and also why you choose to use two DBs. Is it just for readabilty and ease or is there a necessity to having one DB for data to the HMI and one DB for data from the HMI. Thanks. Andres G, I was not able to search and pull up the document that you referenced. If you have time to provide a direct link it would be most appreciated.

CarlesG Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Timmy, i Realize with 2 DB, s to structure it that he received and sent in 2 directions, you also have that working with CFC and have many items to control and display, so it was easier to find any problems in the HMI, the work is also higher because of export to Csv to WinCC and linking it you to monitor everything. Timmy Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	Ok so it worked. Here is what I ended up doing.... 1.) Start a new project in TIA v11 SP2 with update 2 put the 315-2dp processor in the project and setup the CP-343-1 in the same slot it would be added to the actual slot out in the field. (I discovered that the CP card I have 30ex is not compatible with the 5.3 version of step 7 so I have to use the 21ex v1.0 out of the hardware catalog in the PCS7 system. This made me choose the 21ex v2.3 in the hardware catalog of the TIA project as well) 2.) Assigned proper IP address to the CP-343-1 as well as subnet 3.) Setup up only the new tags in the cpu (25 tags in all) and gave them memory address in the CPU (bits and ints mostly) 4.) Installed a KTP600 in the TIA project, assigned it an IP address and subnet. Made an HMI connection to the CPU-3152-dp and then also made all the tags. 5.) Saved everything and downloaded to the KTP600 6.) Then on the PCS7 system I installed the CP343-1 card to the CPU315-2dp, changed hardware configuration, and downloaded to the CPU locally. 7.) After that I was able to communicate with the CPU315-2dp via ethernet. I added the same tag names and memory addresses from the TIA project to the symbol table of the CPU. 8.) Connected everybody together and it worked. Was kind of in shock how easy it actually went fearing the worst. I am sure I am leaving out important details so if you need to know something in greater detail I would be happy to provide it. Thanks to everyone for the help and support. It was most appreciated.
