Does PLC 315 has to know about OP7

unaplc Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Does PLC 315 has to know about OP7? There are few operating panels already installed in the system, but we would like to add new one. The new OP7 should have different program then other ops. They are on Profibus network. Is it possible to add op without downloading changes to PLC? If changes to PLC are necessary, what are they?

If you use mpi port, you can add the extra panel without changes to PLC. BUT, there is a limit to the number of HMI connected to CPU, this can be set in hardware too. Depends on Type off PLC, what's the complete number of PLC? (MLFB) Regards, Marcjan

Hello, No NEED to download in PLC!!! OP7 is transperentto hardware & plug and play. Set the appropriate OP7 DPnode address, connect DP bus and online. That's it. Best Regards, --

For a few panels maybe a bit over the top, for complex networks verry usefull. Better do it the right way even with only a few panels on the network. I was learned to do it that way, did think it was neccesary, see that is not correct Regards, Marcjan

Dear unaplc, just for your information. OP7 is discontinued/absolute product. The suitable HMI is OP77B. Do you have OP7 available?
