Process Connections in a Redundant WinCC Project

I have a pair of redundant WinCC servers, and I am facing a problem with the number of process connections. Due to restraints in a slave equipment, I would like to stop some process connections in the Standby server. Is this possible to do? According to the documentation, if a WinCC server has less connections than the other one, its state is set to "fault", so even if this was possible the redundancy probably would not work properly . Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has an idea on this! Thank you!

I have 10 serial slaves in the gateway, so WinCC opens 10 TCP connections to the gateway, and because I have a pair of redundant servers, I have 20 connections to this gateway. The maximum number of server connections in this equipment is 16, so 4 of them are not working .
