DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	When an axis is following a real encoder feedback, there are inherent delays in the system (bus communication, system clocks, filters & others) that cause the axis following the encoder to "fall behind". This time delay is fixed, so extrapolation time can be used to compensate for this delay and advance the slave axis ahead, so it operates together with the master. Extrapolation time will not help with the unstable signal, but extrapolation filters may. There is a separate filter available for position and velocity feedback. Be careful, as using filters on external encoder signal introduces yet additional delays in the signal processing due to properties of the filter (low pass) and will need to be additionally compensated for with extrapolation time.

PT1 or Mean value generation ? and Should i click to extrapolation time and enter time value? best regards

Hello Friend, You have to click Extrapolation time and depending on your application, You have choose a filter for either for position / velocity or which ever is applicable...!!! Don't forget the tune the values untill you get desired position/velocity profile on the trace..!!! Regards, Abhijit
