Posts: 10 Rating: (1)	Hi Techy, Solution without VPN: Use a ADSL-Router: Local IP of S7: 10.5.10.5 IP from Internet-Service-Provider: 84.115.99.99 In the router you have to configure "port-forwarding" for port 102 to the adress 10.5.10.5 Then start Step7 anywhere in the world and change the IP of your S7 to 84.115.99.99. Don´t download the hardware config!! It works, but it is NOT safe (hackers). Regards Manfred

You could use Cyclades Terminal server's with ppp or DIGI terminal server's. We made this and worked fine. If you want to access MPI you can work around this solution too ...

I know how much it is for the VPN Solution, if I use a "standard" (not Siemens) VPN Device I will have to spend between 80 and 160 $(including the complete Hardwaresetup + VPN Software Client) depending on the size of the site. Can you beat this? Stay calm.

DanielGuillize Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi All, Sorry Techy about giving an alternative solution. The solution that I gave is the solution that We have done. We did not have a ADSL connection. You really could do what you are intending. You only have to put the router address (ADSL router address) on CP343 or CP443 HW config. After that, on setting PC/PG interface configure de TCP/IP <-> ONLINE. That is it. Calm_Down, We used a TS100 by Cyclades and Portserver MEI TS by DIGI. Our configuration is like that: The PC Client (on the internet) was a PPP client that connect with a TS configured like a Dial-In. In that configuration you have to have a security cares like a users rights to to prohibit undesirable accesses. We used that configuration to TELE-SERVICE purposes. Best regards.
