it's half true I'd say and perhaps there is just a bit of a misundestanding. PCS7 is based on S7-400 usage, but you can nonethelesssort of "integrate" an S7-300 into a PCS7 based system and below is the info on what to consider and do in this case: S7-300 / S7-400 Package Unit Integration in SIMATIC PCS 7 Having said, have you considered to simply expand your PCS7 system with a remote I/O station for this purpose andlet your existing (PCS7 engineered) S7-400 do the logic?
