Replace IM151-1 ver.3 with IM151-1 ver. 5

coopdegrace Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a faulty old IM151-1 module and I need replace it by latest one. Older: IM151 6ES7151-1AA03-0AB0 Latest: IM151 6ES7151-1AA05-0AB0 Every few hours the old ET200S slave has a fault & the IM's LEDs displays this endless sequence: SF blinks 3 times, afterwards BF blinks 8 times. ON led is steady on. I have purchased the latest module, ver. 5. I need to know if i will run into any trouble doing a direct swap of the ver. 3 module for the ver. 5 module or will some parameter changes need to be done in the hardware setup?

A new configuration is only required if you wish to use the new functions (except the performance increase). In this case you require Step7 V5.4 SP4 to configure the module.
