can i restore OP170B Backup to its equivelent HMI OP177B ?

tk19 Posts: 59 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts/All, I have old project in which OP170B is used. i want to ask that if i take backup of OP170B HMI,in which HMI i am able to restore the Same Backup ? or i got news that OP170B is absolute insted of that HMI ,OP177B is available so can i restore Op170B backup to OP177B. if any one have the solution then please tell me.... Tweety Posts: 3037 Rating: (192)	Hello pt1, The follower of OP170B is the OP177B. You can onlyrestore a backup of OP170B on a OP170B. You can not open a backup with WinCC flexible. Tweety

You can restore only on the same type of panel (Like tweety already mentioned) (In your case only OP170B) Best regards, Wizard

I have a similar issue of pt1. I have 2 versions of an out of date HMI program but was not given the most up to date version and have been asked to modify the existing version....I have tried back transfer without success - cant see pdz file, I have managed to upload the backup files to USB as well as via ethernet using WinCC Flex backup process but cannot open either version in WinCC Flexwhich boggles the mind....so I have backups but no way of modifying it. Seems a bit strange to be able to take an HMIbackup but have no way of modifying it.

Hello grayman, You can not open the backup file. You will have to start from scratch. grayman .....Seems a bit strange to be able to take an HMIbackup but have no way of modifying it. You can only restore it in same (exact) type of panel. You can not modify it. Best regards, Wizard
