S7 1200 PROFIBUS communication

Denza Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have S7 1200 CPU 1214 DC/DC/RLY and CM 1243-5 PROFIBUS DP MASTER, I am trying to establish comunication with slave using SFC14 (DPRD_DAT) and SCF15 (DPWR_DAT). The problem is with RECORD parametar, I created array (bayt and word) in DB to put the result, but Error code is 80B1 (The declared length of the target area is unequal to the useful data lenght configured with STEP7) also I try to doo that with pointers but the error code is the same. What shall I doo, can anyone help me or send me an example of working function. Where and how do declare RECORD parametar. I am using STEP 7 Profesional v11 software.

If you are looking for cyclic data updates and have the slave device gsd file, you can update your project and add the slave and have the profibus module automatically set up the data transfer without any plc logic. I received an FB from Siemens Field Service Engineers in our area to help with this type of thing. I'll post some images and a pdf of the single parameter transfer mechanism. It gets a little more complicated if you need variable numbers of parameter exchange. If you can fix the number of parameters, set up the records, then this block will work for you as well.
