Communicating with PLC without STEP 7

Tanya Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody! I am experiencing problem with my s7-500. I can't find an information that I need. Can you tell me the following: Is it possible to communicate with my PLC without the STEP 7-Micro/Win? I would like to connect s7-500 to my PC and somehow communicate with it and send him commands and recive informations, also. So, do you think this is possible and how?

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello Tanya, in general it is possible to communicatefrom a PC without Siemens Software to a Simatic PLC. For this you have to use thenative TCP - connection using Ethernet Port of CPU or CP card. I am not sure, but i think S7 200 doesn't support native TCP, but all other one. You have to create this connection within NetPro. Here you will find a instruction. Configuring a TCP connection via Ethernet (TCP native) between a SIMATIC S7 and a PC with Socket Interface
