Parallel working of two belts implementing one sequance

jebril Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Hello Siemens Gemeinde, In my design of a for an application with two belts (to be filled with red bricks), I need the help of you experts. In the application: There is four shape/type of layers (a,b,c,d) The layers will be stacked on a palete. Because of this, there is a sequence for the layers. The Operater gives in a list the shape/type of a specific layer sequentially: Layer 1 ---> b Layer 2 ---> a Layer 3 ---> d Layer 4 ---> c Layer 5 ---> b Layer 6 ---> a Belt 1 or Belt 2 should implement the layer acoording to its shape/mode -Belt 1 do (a) and (b) shape. -Belt 2 do (c) and (d) shape. procedure: First when belt 1 is finish with layer 1, it should take layer 2. And in parallel, Belt 2 has to do Layer 3, after that layer 4 ... an so on. It means: both belts should doing the assigned Layers independ from each other and still following the sequence above. That means for each belt: Belt 1: 1st layer: b 2nd layer: a 3rd layer: b 4th layer: a Belt 2: 1st layer : d 2 nd layer c How should I make a program in S7 (CPU315) to implement this kinf of operation Best regards Jebril

I believe it would be better idea because even if somebody will write program for you here then you will have problems at the next step and so on.

jebril Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	It seems that you didn't understand my issue. I'm not asking anybody here to make for me a program.. I have asked about the idea to implement such this application (parallel sequences), like using specific SFC or an Algorithm. I guess this is not for begginers anymore or as you said in the basic courses of PLC programming.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	General idea - your belts should set flags "layer ready" so that another belt can take control and load it's' own layer to pallet. In meantime layer without control will form new layer.

jebril Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	The Problem is by all this counters in the old program, that always one of the three memory bits : M0.0 M0.1 or M0.2 is included in the enabling input of the counter. I have noticed that they are "clock memory" with different frequency, so the counter works as a timer. But how could I know the frequency value of each one to estimate the delay time of the outpu??

This is done in the CPU Prpoperties (in HWConfig), in the Memory tab. Doing this imposes a different cycle time for each bit of that byte. You will find a complete description of the clock cycles if you search for "clock memory" or "clock byte" in nthe Simatic Manager online help. Each layer makes one belt only. Can you explain the application clearly? You have mentioned "in the old program", so you have an old program and your task is to do it once again and better ? Georgio
