S7-200 output thru MODSCAN

Chitnila Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	HI Friends Currrently i Am doing a Project with S7-200.The CPU i am using is 226 CN. I have prohrammed the PLC as SLave thru MODBUS_init and Slave instructions. I dont have the library installed in my Step-7 Microwin. I just copied it to my Program. I am using MODSCAN to scan the outputs in my PC. But the modscan cannot communicate with the PLC.It is giving a 'Timed Out' message. Anybody can pls help? Pls find the PGm Attached.Do we need to install the library function in step-7 for the instruction to work? regards chit Attachment A268_Modbus.pdf (358 Downloads)

Er. Sanjay Mistry Posts: 79 Rating: (7)	I Solution is as simple as a clap, use SM0.0 in stead of SM0.1 for MBUS_INT. Refer help, microwin has a good help menu, "The MBUS_INIT instruction is used to enable and initialize, or to disable Modbus communications. Before the MBUS_SLAVE instruction can be used, the MBUS_INIT instruction must be executed without errors. The instruction completes and the Done bit is set immediately, before continuing to the next instruction. The instruction is executed on each scan when the EN input is on.The MBUS_INIT instruction should be executed exactly once for each change in communications state. Therefore, the EN input should be pulsed on through an edge detection element, or executed only on the first scan." I hope you will find this words in help :)
