Simotion as DP slave

kdb_ Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	I know it's possible to configure a simotion (D425)as DP slave, but the problem is the master isn't a siemens one. So I can't configure the simotion as an I-slave. I've added the configuration of the DP slave in attachement. It consist of 16 words in and 16 words out with consistency = UINT When I add the addresses in the "address list" i get the follwoing information in the field "availability": does not exist. The extra information is given: "Device not connected". I've added a picture also in attachement. I've downloaded the HW configuration as well as the netpro to the simotion. Somebody some ideas? kdb_ Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Yes it's configured in the other side. I've also payed attention to see the configuration of inputs and outputs is correct. But beside this it's not normal that i get the information in the address list "does not exist". It means this address isn't known in the simotion. How can I get rid of this status? Regards kdb

Show the tooltop in you Screenshot. Is there any BUS FAULT led red on the Simotion or any bus error on the other PLC? Regards Christoph

kdb_ Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello, I configured DP2 is profibus slave. At the simotion the DP2 led is red. On the profibus master the led BF (bus failure) is flashing red. But I configured also some outputs to the profibus master (PQW100 - 16 words) and their I also get the information "does not exist" Regards kdb

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 1/20/2026 Posts: 22829 Rating: (3074)	Hello, the "does not exist" occurs because ther is no communication between your DPMaster and the DPSLasve so no I/O drivers are exists. Have you isochronous DP configured? Can you put the both projects here as attachment? Regards Christoph

DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	A note on Simotion GSD file configuration. Unlike most IO devices, in Simotion configuration IO starts at slot 3, not 1 (see attached picture). First 3 slots are taken by ID general frames that are also included in the GSD file. Make sure that those slots are configured properly. Attachment SimotionGSD.jpg (580 Downloads)
