I think I am at the stage now to give up, try and support my existing customers with an old laptop and a 32bit install of WinCC, the one which works with AB, Omron, Horner, etc...and only use this new one with AB and TIA Portal, not sure who I hate the most at the moment Micro$oft or Siemens:) Thanks for all of your help any way. Mark Sad to hear . I wanted this to be solved, but this is not my computer and I can have it on the table . On the other hand I know what it means when you need to go to the customer/write program, but your laptop doesn't like you . This is crazy.

Abdelbasset Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi Mark I have got this message also on Windows 7 32 bits but after days of googling about SQL server I manage to run WINCC Flexible 2008 SP3 on Windows 7 reinstalling the windows is better but if you just folow the steps it should helps too 1- uninstall All the SQL server data from the computer 2-reinstall SQL server from \\InstSata\SQLExpress 3-don't use default instance (rename the instance ""WINCCFLEXEXPRESS"") continue the instalation and it is done

What should you watch out for when installing WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 or WinCC V11 SP2 on an HP notebook?

With the installation of Service Pack 3 for WinCC flexible 2008 on HP notebooks there are incompatibilities with the HP keyboard driver.

The following products are affected:

SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 Compact/Standard/Advanced
SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 Runtime

Productsnotaffected:
New corrected DVDs have been supplied since May 2012 for WinCC Comfort/Advanced/Professional and WinCC Runtime Advanced. The corrected version is indicated by the overprintV11 SP2 SE incl. Update 2on the DVD. This DVD eliminates the need for the procedure below.

Remedy
There are two alternatives for avoiding this incompatibility. Either you uninstall the HP keyboard driver or you uninstall the keyboard driver that is installed with WinCC flexible Runtime or the simulation.
Both alternatives must be executed at the latest before the concluding restart of the PC after installation of WinCC flexible 2008 SP3.

If the restart after installation has already been made and the system no longer starts or you have a blue screen, follow the instructions given under "Run_Windows_Repair".

The alternatives are described below each with their advantages and disadvantages.
