How to upgrade the CUVC Firmware 3.3 to 3.4?

in212576 Posts: 56 Rating: (7)	Dear All, I have a chassis type inverter MLFB :6SE7032-1TG60 , which having the firmware version ofr069 = 3.3. Now i want to upgrade the firmware from 3.3 to 3.4.I have the Firmware upgrade procedure and also the firmware versionsoftware. When i am doing theprocess as per the procedure means after connecting the PC& drive by cable. After starting the download process i got attached file error (No ack received) Timeout.What does mean of error? Nothing is written in procedure for the error. Hi, you don't mention if you have powered the drive up with the cable attached (or if you have the Siemens Pre-Made cable, then with the switch in the ON position). This is so that the Bootstrap tells the drive to boot up in Firmware mode. On a chassis drive, the PMU (Display) should be showing an 'E' if this has happened. The communication settings shown indicate you are communicating via COM2 port at 38400 BAUD, is this correct? More importantly, can you connect to the drive normally using these settings? I can get exactly the same message with no drive connected at all which implies either your drive is not setup to receive new firmware or the cable/interface is not working. Regards, Graeme

in212576 Posts: 56 Rating: (7)	Dear Graeme, Thanks for the reply. I powered the drive after connecting the cable (which is as per the cable configration) to drive & PG. Drive was not showing the status 'E' & it was showing status'009'. How can we get the status 'E' on the drive? Status 'E' comes after you start the firmware transfer or before the firmware transfer? Yes you are correct i am communicating with the drive via com 2 with USB to serial converter with baud rate 38400. ya it is correct.I am communicating the drivewith the samesetting. I tried the toupgrade the firmware with new PG &this given me same error message. How can i setup the drive to receive the new firmware from the PG. Thanks, Shank

Could you tell me one thing after connecting the cable at one end PMU & second end at PG serial port, make the power supply switch ON for the drives, the PMU will directly dispaly the status'E' orany thing? Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 1/8/2026 Posts: 6065 Rating: (828)	Dear Shank, when the cable with closed connection between pin 9,5,1 and 4 is connected to the PMU before power on, the CU goes immediately to 'E'. If you connect the cable after power on, the CU does not change to boot mode and shows °009 or similar. The connection to PG does not matter for changing to boot mode, only the switch to pin 4.
