Hello exponent;
All S7 CPUs have marine certifications; you can see them here for the S7-317F-2PN/DP, for example, chosen at random

6ES7317-2FK14-0AB0

CPU317F-2 PN/DP, 1.5 MB

Look in the Entries tab, filter by Certificates and Search with keyword: "Shipping". You will be shown links to existing certifications, as shown in the attached document.

So you can use all S7 CPUs in marine applications, basically.
But if you are searching for specific marine control applications and spoftwares for S7 CPUs for shipbuilding, look at the following brochure:

If you want further information on the systems presented, follow this link, place you cursor on the word "Automation" at the end of the path and you will find access to different presentations.

Simply check for the model of CPU you plan to use whether the available certificates cover your needs. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

We are working mainly with S7 317 2PN/DP and 319 CPUs on limited size systems, but You have to check what amount of resources seems necessary for Your application. If You need any more support I suggest to see www.siemens.no/marine or contact with marineservice.no@siemens.com You also need to decide which IO system and which fieldbus system is necessary for Your application. ArmaNuzula Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Dear expoinent, when i was in college, i studied about electrical and automation on the ship and my final project is about simulation oil level control on cargo oil tank tanker with PLC when loading unloading oil activity,don't sailing activity. maybe in here i'm shared about my final project, one of automation application on the ship is oil level control on the cargo oil tank tanker shipbuilding. with analog or digital , and it is applied by one of ship company where I work practices . i think automation on the ship is very simple but have a high risk. i think,when the ship must loading unloading oil on port, the ship need fast time, safety balance on the ship, effectivity process, safe electrical energy and effectivity operation . on that basis I make final project that. why don't application sailing activity? i think because shipowner do not want take a risk, if automation problem when on the sea/sailing because shipowner must be have expert automation crew on the ship and have expert automation crew on the ship is very rarely. maybe it still modest, and maybe it can be your reference.
