We are looking to implement a Siemens S7-400 redundant PLC system in a Class 1 Div 2 hazardous area.

Certificates are readily available confirming suitability of 6ES7 CPUs, power supplies, comms modules, IO etc. However, I cannot find any documentation confirming the back-up batteries (6ES7971-0BA00) used in the 6ES7 power supplies are suitable for Class 1 Div 2.

Can this be confirmed?

The 6ES7 hardware is generally suitable for ambient temperature up to 60 deg C. Does this also apply to the back-up batteries?
