Simulating Analog Inputs with PLCSIM and Step7 V11

Eric K Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	Apparently the syntax for analog inputs/outputs changes from Step7 5.5 to Step7 11 from PIW/PQW to IW/QW. It appears PLCSIM does not accept the IW/QW Syntax nor does TIA Portal Accept the PIW/PQW Syntax. How can Analog Input Values be simulated in PLCSIM and TIA Portal? I never had an issue in V5.5. Thank you

The addressing format for Analog I/O has changed, can someone confirm if PLCsim has been updated to support the new syntax? Thanks Eric

Thanks Eric Hello, For simulation without error especially for peripheral I/O,the addresses should be included in hardware and also downloaded to simulating module.That is the case for both STEP 7 and TIA Portal for S7 300/400. Now my next question is, will this still be able to read the Analog Value from the Physical I/O cards? I don't have any real hardware in front of me to test it. That being said, what is the difference between IW290 and IW290:P now with Portal? Has there been a differention made between Profibus/Profinet Analog I/O and Physical Analog I/O? Does I/O have to be handled different between the 1200/1500 and 300/400 PLC processors? Eric

Eric K Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	In Conclusion: It looks like a ":P" requried connect TIA Portal to PLCsim, so for any simulation, this should be appended to any Analog Input. But unless necessary, due to scan times of the Process Image, after simulation, this ":P" should be removed prior to commissioning. Comments?
