Using WinCC for Monitoring Modicon TSX Premium PLC

Hello KAKA', For ModiconPLCs you could use ModbusTCPIP.chn in WinCC, beginning with WinCC V7.0. Please take a look at this part of WinCC manual: MODBUS TCPIP You will also find information about possibilities and settingsin documentation of yourTSX PremiumPLC, or you ask manufactorer of PLC which Channel Drivers he offers for it. Hello Kaka; The protocol name is Modbus/TCP, Ethernet and TCP/IP describe the physical layer for communications on which many protocols can reside. Think of TCP/IP as a telephone line, speakers of many languages can share the line but might not be able to exchange information (incompatible protocols). Here you have2 manuals from Schneider describing the Modbus/TCP setup on Premium and Micro PLCs, and a communications manual for WinCC v.7.0; chapter 3 describes how to configure a Modbus/TCP channel with Modicon PLCs. You would require a switch between all participants in the network. If you want help on the design of your network, please show us a sketch of your configuration, some members here could give you pointers if needed. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello KAKA'; I have looked at the description of the Modicon communication modules you point to in your drawing The module for the TSX Micro (TSX ETZ 410) is for "Modbus over TCP", see page 4.15 of the TSX Micro catalog from Schneider: http://products.schneider-electric.us/support/technical-library/?event=detail&oid=0900892680170813&cat=0b00892680101907 However, it seems that for the Premium the module you suggest is not directly usable for Modbus/TCP and would require some extra program for this type of application;the TSX ETZ 110WSis basically an ETHway protocol processor.
