@shish Posts: 291 Rating: (6)	Yes, you can connect it into Profibus/DP network. As in case of MP277 (touch panel), it has got profibus port to get it connected to a Profibus network. But in case of desktop PC, you must have got a CP card for profibus communication. reg, Ashish

Hello, It depends on your HMI station, if it has a profibus DP interface or not. If yes, then it's ok, but you should go to HMI software and set the communication interface to profibus and adjust the baudrate to match your existing profibus baudrate, and you have also to set a profibus address for it. For SIMATIC Panels, it's ok and you have to go to WinCC flexible Software and change connection to profibus and also select a non used profibus address. Hope this helps.

Hello, yes you can connect your wincc scada on profibus dp using profibus cp card installed in desktop pc. you have to made connection in profibus to connect your scda with plc. do you have any other visulation HMI is connected in network with RIO station? if you have Scada program already developed then just lay the profibus cable from last node of existing network to your desktop pc with cp card and check the communication.

pk2_kdh Posts: 54 Rating: (3)	The remote IO station is connected with the main PLC Profibus. From main PLC to Profibus OLM then via FO to the remote IO panel to OLM then again from OLM via profibus to the IMs. All the SCADA HMI stations at the main panel connected in Profibus MPI network , none of them are at DP network. Now if I simply connect the RIO Scada HMI to the last node of the IM at the RIO panel of DP network then would it communicate properly...?

This is explained in the following FAQ: Setting up an MPI network with PROFIBUS OLMs Your best optionwould be to create a Profibus-DP channel in WinCC, tranfer your MPI tags inside it and then connect to the optical Profibus network. You can use the WinCC Tag Import/Export tool to transfer your tags from the MPI channel to a Profibus-DP channel (in the Simatic S7 Protocol Suite). WinCC Tag Import/Export Problem Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
