Analog input (AI2x12Bit) low current

SBiker Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hello. I have some problem with analog input module (6AG1 331-7KB02-2AB0). To the both channel 1 and channel 2 I've connected two pressure transmitters (2 wire, 4-20mA signal). The reading on the first channel seems to be ok (for 0 pressure I have 4 mA) and for higher pressures the reading is proper. On the second channel (ch 2) for 0 pressure the reading of current is about 1.9 mA so less than 4 mA. I've made some test with switching the cables, connecting both transmitters to the 1 ch and next 2 ch I've checked also the current loop if it's not disconnected somewhere. The test where positive for ch 1 but for ch 2 not. Is it mean that the second channel is damaged somehow and the only resolution is buy a new card? Best regards.

AutoGen_259626 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	try using 4 wire configuration. This happen many a time with 2 wire conf. Use 24VDC external to PT & take back other wire to AI +VE Terminal & use M point of external power for AI -VE terminal.

RKM Posts: 93 Rating: (13)	Yes.. use 2nd input in first chanel and see iffirst channel isproperly getting the 4 mA of second input. and also try to connect second input to any other module .if for both cases if you get positive result then second chanel of your AI card is faulty.

I've instaled the new 8 AI module for test and all ch. for both transmitters works perfect so guessing that the second ch. is in 2 ch module is dead.
