We have 2 fm353 module which is connected to CPU. for checking purpose, am trying to operate the fm from hardware config screen -- DC on FM-> PARAMETERS->under testing and config of fm STARTUP.(by keeping cpu in stop mode as mentioned in manual.) I am trying to operate the jog mode by pressing R+/R- buttons. for 1 module, its working fine. setpoint and actual value is varying accordingly. for the second module, only the setpoint is varying, actual value is not chanhing. so that the command (fr+ / fr-) is not getting reset. power restart is req to reset all the conditions. what may be the reason?? i missed somewhere ?? regards vipz Attachment MODULE2_4.jpg (231 Downloads)

edsel lin Posts: 80 Rating: (1)	Have you tried to download the machine data? And you need to activate it by using the MD active. And try to reset the actual value and reference pt.

vipz Gold Member Joined: 9/2/2012 Last visit: 9/25/2025 Posts: 712 Rating: (30)	Dear edsel, i didnt loadmachine data. but the data blocks are downloaded which is copied from the library. create sdb and transfer to FM is done. for startup jog mode parameterisation is required ?? with out this settings, 1st module is working fine. regards vipz

edsel lin Posts: 80 Rating: (1)	Dear vipz, Yes, it is required to Load the parameter Data Block. Because the encoder setting, speed setting, etc are in the data blocks. And after you load, you need to activate it by pressing MD active. You can check whether the block already there or not by clicking the Transfer Data to FM, you can see on the left side the data blocks in your PC program and on the right side the data block in the FM. Check the 1st FM353 module, probably the DB already there. If you have the same parameter for both FM353 module, you can copy the DB by transfer the DB from the 1st FM to the PC, and load it to another FM module.

edsel lin Posts: 80 Rating: (1)	You're welcome vipz. So, you mean the 1st module already have the Data Blocks in the FM but you never download it. I don't know, probably somebody else did download it before you. But yes, it is required to download the Machine Data even if you only want to test from the "Startup" menu.

vipz Gold Member Joined: 9/2/2012 Last visit: 9/25/2025 Posts: 712 Rating: (30)	Dear edsel, actualy long back we supported customer to commission the module. during that time 1 module we tested and found ok. loaded db at that time. for second module also, customer commissioned the module and was working fine(as per their feedback). inbetween something goes wrong, after that only problem started. so i tried with our old backup. will see.. thanks and regards vipz
