SMHZ Posts: 315 Rating: (9)	I am a beginner in PLC, but i think the diff b/w current & voltage wiring is that current wiring is done in series whereas voltage wiring is done in parallel with signal. Correct me if i am wrong!

Reg, Ashish According to the type of modules used, the 6ES7331-1KFxx needs only changing input type in H/W config, but the 6ES7331-7KFxx needs also changing the jumper position (which is found on the side of the module)

Correct me if i am wrong! Dear SMHZ, If you have a circuit and you would like to measure a current using an ammeter, then you will connect it in series. If you have a circuit and you would like to measure a voltage using an voltmeter, then you will connect it in parallel. So, you are right. But as we do not know the internal circuit diagram of Analog modules, you have to follow the connection instruction divided inModule datafor each module. Hope this helps.

For 6ES7331-1KFxx, the pin wiring (U+ or I+) also needs to be change. . Where in 6ES7331-7KFxx, no need to change pin wiring. 2. For 6ES7331-1KFxx, Individual channel assignment is possible. . Where in 6ES7331-7KFxx, only group (consists 2 channel) assignment is possible. .

Also from the point of diagnostics with 4-20mA easy to detect wirebreak. So current is preferred for most of the applications.
