TP177 Operating Temperature

PaulMoffat Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Recently, a thermal issue with a differing brand brought to investigation as to weather the same thing occurred with a TP177 panel. The problem that I found, was that if the panel is cooled, the communication stops! Particulars: Cool panel to about 40'F (4'C) and then power up and connect to an S7-200 PLC @ 187.5k baud. The panel will not communicate until it has warmed up. Note that this temperature is within the published operating range. Anybody else seeing this?

It is normal for SIPLUS Type which operate (0-50) deg. Hope this helps.

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (1000)	Acustomer is useing TP177 and MP277 in a cooling room with -6°C. It works if the panel is not switched off but under power all the time. But system specifications do not allow so low temperatures.

Hello, According to ST 80 catalog (2008): Temperature (For TP 177A, TP 177B, TP 177 micro) • Operation (vertical installation) 0 to +50°C • Operation (max. tilt angle) 0 to +40°C • Transport, storage -20 to +60°C Also, according to ST 70 catalog (2011): Ambient temperature (For S7-200) • Operation (95 % relative humidity) - With horizontal mounting 0 … 55°C - With vertical mounting 0 … 45 °C • Transport and storage -40 … +70 °C - with 95 % relative humidity 25 … 55 °C However it is strongly recommended that, panel internal temperature is kept warm by a heater.
