Panel password doubts

syd_b Bronze Member Joined: 2/3/2011 Last visit: 12/12/2025 Posts: 349 Rating: (10)	Hi, if some application has "admin" and "PASSWORD" properties and the password is set incorrectly more than set in WinccFlex project. The password get locked, is there any wait time to get the password unlocked? If I backup the application with prosave, while it´s locked, and then restore. Does this will reset the locked password? Thanks.

The password get locked, is there any wait time to get the password unlocked? ... That depends from WinCCflex version. Until WinCCflexible 2007, after 3 times wrong PW, panel is locked. Since WinCCflexible2008 you can disable the password locking feature.

If the user attempt to enter wrong password more than or equal to value set in WinCC flexible "No. of invalid login attempts", the password will get locked. To unlock it, you can follow one of these methods. You have to re-download the software again on the panel. You can set the value"No. of invalid login attempts" to ZERO to disable this option. ZERO here means unlimited attempts. If you do not have the software, you can use prosave and take a backup, then create a simple project with a new adminstration settings and download it to the panel. Then backup only admistration of this simple project. Then restore the original project and then restore the adminstration settings of second project. syd_b If I backup the application with prosave, while it´s locked, and then restore.
