Regarding Analouge Input Measurement Voltage

N.Tufail Posts: 44 Rating: (0)	Hello All Members, Kindly can you please tell me that can i measure micr volts with analouge inputs of S7-200, I am using thermocouple whose sensitivity is 46 uV/C(46 uV change in voltage with change in 1 degree temperatur). I want to use that information in my PLC .Kindly do tell me if can measure such small voltage with PLC. if i cant measure such a small voltage then what i can do to measure the uV and use this voltage in my PLC.i want to turn the heater on and off with respect to temperature measured by thermocouple. i think you got my point.kindly reply me as soonas possible.

Hello N.Tufail, for Thermocouple Input You have 2 option 1. Used the TC module 6ES7231-7PD20-0XA0 2. Used any Convertor which Convert the TC to 4..20mA (Like MTL, P&F or Phoenix contact)

Can you elaborate please that whatare MTL, P&F or Phoenix contacts? from where i can get them? Can we easily interface these convertors with S7-200. i want a onvertor which can easily b interfaced with (s7-200 CPU 224XP ) and whci converts the thermocouple output in microvolts to (0-10) volt? kindly do tel me , i am begginer on the PLC and i dont even know the interfacing of modules with PLC and i have very small time .kindly provide me a solution that i can implement easily and i short span of time. I shall be very thankfull to you if you help me in this problem.......!

It would have been very easy for you to simply Google the name to find the company. N.Tufail Posts: 44 Rating: (0)	thankyou all for replying me, sir/madam,is there any other way to measure the temperature of water through a sensor that gives the output range of (0-10)V ? if there is no any such kind of sensor, then it is sure that theP&F andMTL sensors can b interfaced with our PLC ? i have to order the hardware, thats why i am asking this question.

You have 2 choices, use a specialized input card for temperature measurement, either TC or RTD, or put a signal conditionner between the temperature sensor and the PLC analog input. For part numbers of the temperature input cards, look at the following table (there is a lot more information on these modules in the system manual): S7-200 System Manual Table A-24 Thermocouple and RTD Modules Order Numbers 6ES7 231--7PD22--0XA0: EM 231 Analog Input Thermocouple, 4 Inputs 4 Thermocouple 6ES7 231--7PF22--0XA0: EM 231 Analog Input Thermocouple, 8 Inputs 8 Thermocouple 6ES7 231--7PB22--0XA0: EM 231 Analog Input RTD, 2 Inputs 2 RTD 6ES7 231--7PC22--0XA0: EM 231 Analog Input RTD, 4 Inputs 4 RTD If you open the P&F link I presented earlier, you will se ethat you can select modules with a 0-5V outputs, so these would be readable by your PLC (the range of inputs of the PLC is 0-10V, so you would only use half of the full range, but you would still be able to read the temperature correctly with a bit of programming).
