Please help me to test EM235 analog module !

Please tell me..without any sensors ...Could i check this analog module by using a DC battery source 9V with a variable resister and ajust the input volatage of EM235 (AIW...) ? Then I will use the simple program from PLC to look the output of EM235 (AQW...)? Please tell me the way to test my EM235... Thank you very much !
