One channel is fed with 4-20mA depending on speedfrom the sensor output. While going through data sheet of this card, it says cable length max with shield is 200 M. What does this mean? The distance in my application is > 200 M and I am getting sporadic alarm in this loop as if speed fell down beow 1728 rpm, where as in realitythe application is a fixed speed with 1800-1802 rpm. From the field to PLC AI card there is 1:1 barrier/buffer also. Does this take care of distance restriction or the purpose is just like Analog Channel to field sensor isolation? If you have added a amplifier/isolator the max cable lenght is whatever is in the datasheet of that device. For the AI card the device is same as a sensor. Regards, Marcjan

When the value droped bellow 1728 did you check what is the value at corresponding PIW? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

It's a fixed speed synchronous motor 1800rpm,and I never saw slippage in physical speed (as the Power grid frequency is stable always) and the other circuit monitoring the speed is always reading stable values. NAMUR is feeding 4PPR to signal converter, then 4-20 mA to isolation/buffer then to AI card. I replaced the sign. converter and AI. NAMUR checked physicallyfor intactness. My doubt was whether distance>200 M causing this sporadic alarm. But Marcjan clarified that it shdn't be an issue as we use a barrier.
