Vlv2WayL implementation question

Giedrius_Kai Posts: 72 Rating: (3)	Hello, I'm pretty new to PCS7 and I'm struggling with Vlv2WayL to make it work as I want. Maybe it's not possible or it's possible but slightly different. I want to control a 2-way valve (left/right) with end position indications. There is no home position, just two outputs for left and right. Q: Has the Vlv2WayL block inputs for end positions like VlvMotL block (FbkClose/FbkOpen)? If yes or it has something similiar, is it possible to turn off CtrlVx outputs when these positions are reached? Maybe it's not possible to achieve what I want with Vlv2WayL and I have to use VlvMotL block with modified pictures that indicate left and right position. If it's possible maybe I can get an example. crazyCow Gold Member Joined: 12/4/2009 Last visit: 11/6/2025 Posts: 453 Rating: (137)	Dear Giedrius_Kai, I had similar situation with Vlv2WayL valve: physical situation was that real valve has only two positions (left or right). But, as You have already noticed, Vlv2WayL assumes that you have three actuators (V0, V1 and V2) and using various output combinations (0-7) you activate theese outputs. Also, all three mentioned acutoators have their own feedback (which can be turned off). Also, there is a problem with PLC startup and neutral (Pos0) position. We have managed to acheive our goal, but if I had to do it again, I'd rather use VlvL or VlvS with oue control output and modified block icon/faceplate. Hope this helps. Regards.

Giedrius_Kai Posts: 72 Rating: (3)	I played with VlvL bit, but it has only one control output. So, I'd need to do modifications to the standard block again... I think the best solution for my task is to modify VlvMotL block icon/faceplate. It does everything what I want, but the icon is a different. Any other suggestions?

If I edit an original icon and save it in other format it loses its quality. What's the best way to modify existing .emf icon pictures?
