224xp connection to pc running modscan32 via freeport

Greenough Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	can anyone help meconnect my PC running modscan32 to the freeport of a S7224xp. I have the rs232/ppi multimaster cable, will it work? or is there an easy cable that can be made?

Greg_E Posts: 88 Rating: (2)	Hi Greenough, modscan32 are software for ModBus(RTU,ASCII,TCP/IP) protocol, you cannot use the PPI cable for diagnostics or any other applications. you must write the ModBus code in your 224XP CPU and connect the freeport with RS-485 cable to your computer(laptop).
