MicroMaster 440 AI1 set to 4-20 ma AI2 set to 0-10V

TheLights Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, Converting from a PowerFlex 700 to MicroMaster 440 I need to set analog 1 to 4- 20 MA and analog 2 to 0-10V PLC to AI1 and an old panel with a 0-10v Pot to control speed of drivedependentifin local or remote control I set the dips so AI1 is 4-20ma and AI2 is 0-10V AI1=on AI2=off I set DI3 to switch between the 2 analog signals I can switch between the 2 analog signals applying power to DI3. The 0-10V will control 0-60 hz When Iapply signal input toDI3 the speed control will switch over to useAI1as the speed reference but the speedscaling is not correct. Using process meter sending 0 ma will set 0 hz sending 4 ma will set 2.6 hz sending8 ma will set5.4 hz sending12 ma will set7.3 hz sending 16 ma will set11.2 hz sending20 ma will set14.1 hz I would greatly appreciate your help. What did I miss in the setup? Is it even possible to into current into one input and volt into the other input?

But something else is going on with this drive setup,I am way off. P1000 is .0=7 .1=2 .3=2 It switches between channel 1 and channel 2 correctly When apply Ma signal R752 displays 4ma=0.43 8ma=0.93 12ma=1.38 16ma = 1.86 I know the dips are set correctly. not sure what is going on. if I reset the drive to factory defaults,the 4-20 works fine. I either have something wrong or the drive does not like setting the analog in's to4-20ma and 0-10v Working in the deeps of alaska, I fly home tomorrow. They can run in manual using the 0-10v pot til I get back. Would like to figure this out, driving me nuts. I will start from scratch when I get back.

Graeme Platinum Expert Joined: 6/4/2008 Last visit: 11/25/2025 Posts: 1521 Rating: (327)	Hi, if you can post a parameter set once you have setup the drive, that would enable a quick turnaround of your problem. I have successfully used two differing types of Analogue input in the past (I can't verify v2.2, but I'm sure it would not have changed). Silly question, but you are using the DIPs on the Terminal module, and not the ones on the baseboard behind? Don't laugh, I have seen some muppet do that in the past It sounds like the analogue scaling is all to pot (See parameters 756 - 760) - Don't forget the correct index relating to the analog input i.e. P756.0 = AI1, P756.1 = AI2. If you really are stuck you can convert the current input to voltage, there is an old school trick of using a 500ohm resistor in series with the 4-20ma and this will give you 2-10V across the resistor, but this should be your last resort.
